McCauley’s Cottage

Have you ever dreamed about living in your own iconic cottage in an historic village, surrounded by a large garden filled with berries, fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers?

Those dreams are reality at rare and special McCauley’s Cottage - not only a genuine 1840’s  ‘gentleman’s residence’ , not only comfortable accommodation, not only extra dimensions ... truely a unique experience.

Berries, vegies, herbs, fruit and flowers for you to pick from the garden (Seasonal, but for example includes strawberries from November to May).

Real open fire places - efficient super hot Rumford design (plus electric heating).

The house itself is a gorgeous antique.  Rooms glow with the polish of wide cedar doorways, black wood and cedar joinery, blackwood floors and Baltic-pine panelling.Separate lounge room , sitting room and dining room.  Space to spread out, work from home. A big deep clawfoot bath stands upon a warm underfloor heated bathroom floor.

McCauley’s is one self catering unit, quite special for a couple, excellent for two couples or a family, it can comfortably accommodate a group of up to 7 people (plus cot) in 2 1/2 bedrooms.

The main bedroom, on the ground floor, has (an antique iron) double bed.

Upstairs the large divided attic has a queen size bed plus 3 singles and more living space (with a second TV).

Practical antique furniture complements the house and light dimmers blend old style and charm with modern comfort. The insulation and the heating system are a special feature; Rumford fireplaces throw fabulous heat without sucking in draughts,

At McCauley’s Cottage your garden is rambling and ‘real’, more focused on food than flowers - month after month roses, salad vegies of many sorts and strawberries, raspberries, mulberries etc. (7 different berries ) to pick and enjoy.
